EGT Gauge Installation

Ok, it asks for you to pretty much just poke a hole through something to get the temperature.

Where would I do this?

Is it better if I just let a professional do this at a performance store?

There are lots of debates on where the best location is for one... Most people (like myself) have it mounted on the downpipe before the O2.

Can anyone tell me the difficulty of this? I mean can I just drill a hole through it and plug it in or should I see professional assistance?

youll probably need to take the downpipe off and have a bung welded to it so that you can screw in the sensor. some sensors use a compression nut fitting that doesnt require threads but its not as common.

Huh huh, "bung".

No, seriously though, it really is probably easiest (that's not saying much though) to take the DP off and do this, especially because if you run into any complications during the install process you may have to remove it anyway.

Think of this as an opportunity to get it jet-hot coated or something while it's off!

I think it costs about 100 dollars. You can do it yourself. There is no bung to be welded. You just drill and screw it in. I put mine on the bottom of the DP above the O2 sensor.
