Ebay Torque Damper

I just purchased an ebay torque damper, and I am aware that it will not fit and needs some fine tunning.

When i drill new holes do I have to tap them?

dont drill any holes, just trim the narrow end off the bracket and use 2 bolts to mount it.

mine fit fine...it is touching the hood though. all i did was piece it together, hooked up the uim end first, then followed with the bracket end. as the screws tightened it pulled tight.

trim the edge that is near the fire wall, about 1/3 inch, make a square notch pretty much, I just did mine last week.

Something else that's too big is the list of threads started by the OP (170 total...6 or 7 so far this month). Almost every one he could have answered himself if he would only search.

Get rubber bushings and insert them everywhere you can.
and use some rubber pad or something similar for the side wall.
This should miminise the vibrations.
Also use both holes of the bracket that attaches to the UIM., there are 2 holes there.

You will most likely have to pull the uim off. Don't see a way you're going to get an easy out or something in there to drill it out. Maybe if the bolt didn't break off flush you can try grabbing it with vice grips.

About 5 minutes or less if you have done it many times! Its easier if you are running single turbo though, not as many vacuum lines to pull.

I have a torque damper from Ebay on mine and it worked perfectly.

Is there a gasket? and does it need to be replaced when you remove the UIM?

Do you not have your RX7 around at the moment? To find out how many bolts you have go pop your hood. Yes, there is a gasket between the uim and lim, it should be made of metal and could be reused (at least I know that I have without any issues)

5min!!?? you have mad skills if you can get the uim off in such little time. it takes me about 20-30min since it has to be contorted out of its spot between the intakes and the tb.

plus labeling all the vac lines, putting aside the pressure chamber, and the throttle cable takes some time.

there are "from memory" around 10-15 bolts that need to be removed to take the uim off. make sure you tape off the LIM top that way nothing drops into the intake track.

good luck!
