Dumb? Probably...

Ok, I'm new to the business, and all I've learned has been read about here on the forum. The other day, I overheard some people talking about performance parts, and one guy stated "I am going to get a Greddy(he pronounced it how it looks) exhaust" when his friend proceeded to make fun of him and say "It's pronounced g'reddy(jee-reddy)" Well, since I've only read about it, I assumed the first guy was right....so which is it?

And also, Pettit...is it pronounced like what you do to a cat...'pet it'?

Dumb, pointless and boring, I know, but I was quite curious. Thank you

lol veilside is not easy to spell for the normal newb! Its really pronounced vile-side for the term-inclined. The ei is what is called a 'dipthong' and is a term coined for most germ based words. And that one guy is on crack. How the heck can you miss not seeing a " ' " after the g in greddy. Someone has been drinking a tad bit too much.

Also I was cracking up about the Pettit way of prouncing it. I was thinking you guys were trying to say pet tit. Lol! I wish I mad a pet tit ahahahaha. Anywho, I prounce the same way as a the word that means 'a small woman's clothing'. Petite of somehting like that.

Ha, it actually is pernounced like saying you have a pet tit. Or like the other guy said, its like if you have a cat, you pet it. Petite is for small ladies, not cars.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought that it would be better tho if I had a pet tit of my own though. I guess I'll just have to settle with a pet it.

Some more pointless info:

Greddy is the word Trust uses for the combination of great and eddy - Greddy, meaning a great eddy or great wind/storm... etc. So I would assume its pronounced gr'eddy.
