yeah how come this is getting out of hand? did the topic get offensive? did someone post porno or something? is someone making threats? it seems like its %100 on topic like chronos said. just talking about if sliding your fd is good or not. some say yes, some say no, whats the problem?

when was it getting stupid?

yes i agree with that..but cost money...so if you dont have it..its not to much fun watching them lay in your garage....

but believe it or not blowing money and fixing your car can be fun..expecally when a friend helps so when you get mad you yell at him instead of throw things at the car

Both cars are setup for superior road holding and grip driving as that's supposed to be the purpose of a real sports car. The 240sx and AE86 (Corolla GTS) don't have the same level of development so they won't grip nearly as hard. Ofcourse you can setup any RX-7 to be a drift car with severe modifications due to it's high power potential, but in or near it's stock form, It's not a good candidate at all unless you possess extraordinary skill. Unless you plan on spending some serious money (maybe not a problem for you ) to turn your car into an able drifter, I wouldn't plan on doing it in anything more than for fun. I only say this because if you get into some competitive events (Like drift events) where there's concrete barriers and what not, there's a serious chance you could total your FD. Just look at Calvin's car and keep in mind he was pretty experienced...

What is Calvin's member name?

Does anyone think the stock steering wheel is too heavy for drifting? I have gotten the car sideways, and just have issues getting the thing to turn. Maybe I have poor hand over hand technique, or Im just a tall bastard whos knees are chaffing the wheel too much, but it still feels heavy in any event.

Here...see below video link, Calvin starts drifting again in his black 240sx.

Click on either the Hi-res or Low-res button of the NFSU Media Drift event to see the video.

I think he was more familar w/ his FD than his 240 he drove his FD in autox a lot before he started drifting i believe. Also maybe he wanted to be diffrent.

its rather simple, you start off by pulling the ebrake as you would with a 180. once you pass 90 degrees, you tap the foot brake to lock the front wheels. once that is accomplished, you can safely shift into reverse. rev it and drop the clutch as you round 180 degrees. the hardest part is timing the foot brake right cause if you dont shift fast enough you'll just throw the car into a slide. i used to do it all the time in my tercel when the parking lot near my house would be covered with snow or ice. im sure it woud be much easier in an FD.

The current issue of SCC has two "drifting" FD's.

I have to admit I don't get it, though...
