A Standard accepted is about 20hp from a downpipe.

If you are getting a downpipe try to get a stainless steel downpipe.

You can expect about 15 at the wheel. It's a bitch to do so search for previous posts on DP install tips. Don't wanna break that stud....

SS dps don't rust out like mild steel. A ss dp will last longer than your car.

also jet coating it to help keep even more heat out of the engine bay sounds like a good idea, not too expensive either.

The DP is supposedly good for 15-20 hp and decreases underhood temps but the really cool thing about it is the better quicker turbo spool and the "Oh so sweet sound it makes now." It is a definite must for the RX-7.

Yeah, it definitely lets the heat out of your engine faster. Another thing, I would make sure that it has a good mount for your O2 sensor. The Bonez one I have was an easy install.

The M2 was pretty simple as well. I never had a problem with bolts coming out or anything. The sensor mount is in a pretty easy local as well. I can even take the sensor out with out removing anything to get to it and that is from the top of the car.

FEED

I have a stock FEED DP from a jspec rx-7, mounts ofcourse are OEM and is a perfect fit. THe dp bolts on flawlessly. it is SS and I also wrapped it with fiberglass wrap and ceramic painted it with a 1200 degree coat to keep the heat in and out of that already hot engine bay. PM if interested.

20 HP IS A BIT OPTIMISTIC. I don't see stock FD's with only a DP making 240-250rwhp.

Realistically, i'd say 2-5hp.

What drastic changes it does make, is lowering heat, boost response, and a little louder.

But remember that 15-20 hp increase at the engine is not a 15-20 hp increase at the wheels. Plus a dp gains more from other mods. The more flow the better gains that will come b/c of the dp. A stock setup with a dp will not gain like a modded setup with dp.

That's what they say anyways. It's somewhere around that.

Facts: SCC measured another 15rwhp by adding a downpipe to a car that had intake/exh/ecu.
