It's easy.
Both doors:
Remove the triangle piece on the inside of the mirror. Next remove the plastic piece on the inside behind the door handle/lock.
Next, there are three screws around the outside of the panel, unscrew all three.
On the door panels in the little holding/coin area, there is a little small panel. Use a screwdriver to lift it up and get that screw.
Passenger side (extra screws):
Once you have the outter three screws out, you need to pop the little small panel get to that screw. It's near the middle of the door, under the handle area.
Next, you need to remove the window switch. Use a small screwdriver to pry under it, and it just pops out. Extend it out and if you can disconnect it, go ahead. If not, just pull it to the side you can slide your screwdriver in there to get the last screw.
Once you have the screws out, slowly pull the bottom of the panel towards the inside of the car to pop the little plastic holders out. Once the bottom is free, slide the entire panel up, and it's off. Have fun!

Majik. That's kind of the hard way to do it isn't it. I just took mine off two days ago. I replaced my speakers that is why I had them off.
I took my panels off similar to what Majik did, but if you are only interested in getting behind the panels then it is much easier.
See page S-57 and S-58 in your Workshop Manual
http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/3rdgen/manu...20-%20Body.pdf
Drivers Side
1. Take off the two triangles at the top of the door.
2. Remove the three screws around the outer edges of the door.
3. Where your lock is there is a cover over a screw in the pocket. Take the cover off and remove that screw. Now forget about taking out the whole pocket. It isn't necessary!!
4. Now gently pry on the door to pop off the plastic fasteners that are still holding on the door. (see the figure on the bottom of S-57 in the manual). It is best to do this with a tool designed for removing these type of fasteners, but you can probably do it with a screw driver.
5. Now that everything is loose you need to pull vertically on the door (there are two pins at the top that are holding it in place) and gently wiggle the door back and forth to get the door off. You may need to pull up on your lock a little bit to get the pocket around it.
6. Push in on the the tabs on the connectors to detach them from the door.
7. Once you have the door off you can look on the back side of the door and push in the connectors (2 or 3 I think) that is still holding the pocket in place. This makes the door easier to put back on.
Passenger Side:
The process to remove this door is identical with the exception of the fact that one additional screw needs to be removed. The screw is located just below the door handle. See the figure at the top of page S-58.

I guess I should have been more clear. It is easier in the fact that you don't need to remove the little pocket around the lock. You only need to unscrew it. You can remove the pocket after you get the door off. Which is much easier and reduces your chances of tearing anything up. Otherwise I followed the manual.
Majik. I didn't mean to say that my way was that much easier. Poor choice of wording I guess. You did write a very good step by step explaination and I probably just should have made the above comment and left it at that. I didn't mean to offend you. You are a very nice guy and very helpful (from what I have seen across the Forum). Sorry for the mixup.
As for the two screws. I'm pretty sure that I had a total of five screws that needed to be removed on the passenger door to get it off. Three around the outside, one in the pocket (where the lock is), and one just below the door handle. The latter two being covered with small plastic pieces, which need to be removed in order to unscrew them.
This might be a better link to follow to the manual I mentioned earlier.

After that, there is one screw just below the handle which is covered with a plastic piece. The other screw is buried inside where the window control switch is located. The window control switch needs to be removed to get to that last screw.

There are many other threads about it, but I would say that either you are forgetting about that screw or where it joins to the panel is broken on your car.
