Does this ari cleaner hose connect to anything?

Standing in front of the car, this hose comes out on the right side of the air cleaner and goes down. I think it's an air intake and is meant to be left unconnected. Can anyone confirm this?

I just finished the long engine engine replacement job over the weekend, and began some test drives. It doesn't feel like there's quite enough boost on the lower end, and I'm thinking it has something to do with intake. Any suggestions?

Thanks - Tom

by air cleaner you mean stock air box right?

the only hoses that come off it are the 2 large pipes leading to the primary and secondary turbos, BOV CRV and to the air pump. if its installed on the car and you are standing in front of it the hose coming off of the right side (your right) its the airpump hose. there are no hoses that should be uncovered except the BOV (which should be covered, but a lot of people vent it or replace with a aftermarket BOV)

It's stock. What does BOV CRV stand for? All hoses (except this one) from come off the back side of the air cleaner and go towards the rear of the car. This hose is the only one that goes to the right, then down sort of next to the intercooler, then to the left for a couple inches, where it is open. I didn't see any clamp marks on it and concluded that it didn't connect anywhere.

The open hose you found is normal. It is connected to the air pump relief valve. It is noisy, so there is a small muffler-like device inside the stock air box, and the hose pointing down further helps to keep it quiet.

Thanks!

Any ideas on why I'm feeling slightly less boost?

Leaky y-pipe to flat, cross-over pipe coupler? See if you can pull the flat plastic pipe that goes from the turbos to the IC up and down. The rubber coupling there is very often loose or even cracked/split.

Do you have a boost gauge?
