A different TPS question.
OK. With all screws all the way out and everything how its supposted to be the TPS volts will not go below 1.45 so I can't get it within spec (.7-1.25) closed throttle. I do not know what is wrong but it will not adjust to within spec. Is the TPS bad or am I missing something? I have searched all day and I can't find what im looking for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you mean if its seated correctly than I believe so. Also the the bottom wire is at like .06 or something below spec (.1-.7) if that means anything.

Im going to take off the throttle body again and check everything and check the tps again.
Any other ideas for things to check? Also am I correct in assuming that the tps reading 1.45 would make my idle at 1650 like it is now (air bleed screw is all the way in). Also are the rpm's supposted to go down when you turn the a/c on or up?

i think you are confused.
don't take anything off.
first set the 3 screws at the throttle body as per Damian's thread.
Once those screws are set, you need to loosen one or both of the bolts holding the TPS in place then *gently* move/rotate the TPS just a fraction. Then tighten up the 2 TPS bolts and re-check the voltage. If the TPS did indeed move, the voltage patter WILL be different. If it is not, then you are either using the wrong wires or you didn't move the TPS.
It sounds to me like you just set the throttle body air screws and didn't do anything with the actual TPS sensor.

Why does everyone still think that I don't know you have to loosen the screws in order to move the tps. Yes I know the tps is held by two PITA to remove screws, so I replaced them with easier ones to loosen. I know how to move and adjust the TPS I swear I do and I have, BUT it still will not go below 1.45 no matter how much I adjust the throttle position sensor (black thing with the 4 wired connector). If i turn the tps the other way the volts will go even higher. And yes I set the other 3 screws per damians thread. Yes the thermowax rod is seperated. Are there any other things im missing?
The reason I was going to take it of was to check inside the tps (the 2 pronged turning thing inside it) to see if there wasnt something wacky going on there
My Idle goes down from 1650 to about 1450 when I turn the A/C on is that an ISC problem? Or just that my idle is really high?

I had a similar problem......I ended up taking the throttle body off to insure the TPS was not binding. Then I made sure the lower butterfly was closing completely. This allowed the TPS to have no pressure on the spring (was able to move it before pressure was applied). Once I put it all back together, the TPS should be pushed all the way UP to lessen the voltage and down to increase it.
After doing all that, I was able to set it at .87 (right between the .75 and 1.0 recommended) and voila.....perfection........

Thanks BigAl, i think im going to try that and see if it helps. While im at it see if I can clean out my Idle speed control so it doesn't stick or do wierd things. Any other ideas?
