Differences between a 1995 RX7 and later JDM models?
Hi,
Have a question are there any reliably differences between a 1995 US model and later Japanese models (except the power gains).
Are they better soothed for a daily driver??
Do they last longer?
And do they have less problems?

For the most part yes,the later models come with an upgraded cooling system and ECU among other refinement's.And on top of that their not as old as the 95's or earlier models,so normally their would be less wear on them assuming they weren't abused and taken care of.

I have read that over heating is a problem a racing hood with some vents would also help i think venting out some of the hot radiator and intercooler air

also, the newer model FD's had 16bit ecu's, as opposed to the 93-95 that were offered here in the US. The newer FD's also utilize a vacuum box, as opposed to the vacuum hose system offered in the US model. Another major difference is apex seal lubrication, the newer models use a different method (i'm not too sure on the specifics though).
the US model FD has 16 inch alloy wheels, while the newer use 17 inch. The Newer FD also have larger front and rear brakes. The Japanese models also offer a 4.3 rear end, while the US model was 4.1 if i recall correctly.
What difference were you looking for specifically, so i can let you know what the changes were.

I just wanted to know if the newer one's are more reliable.
And the differences because where i moved to there only are Japanese RX-7.
I do think the JDM version will be faster (they mostly are just like the JDM NSX and Impreza STi & Lancer EVO)
