Did FD prices drop or something?
This last month I think this is the most I have ever seen people posting about acquiring an FD.
Not saying it bad...Just wondering if prices dropped, or maybe banks changed their policy on loans, or maybe the long time owners getting sick of the headache and letting it go for cheap.

i was reading a thread like last month and two guys were arguing because one said that it wasnt possible to sell a 7 under 20K and another said it was and he found the cheapest one and it was like 8K.
now i am seeing them for under 10K, they aren't the worst, but not the bes. if you want to modify it and put a bunch of aftermarket things into it, then they are good for that. only hevily modified or show cars go for over 20K. that i have seen.
i would say they've dropped....plz dont raise the prices.
sry about the double post, dont know how that happened

We've got a lot of low ballers and 16 year olds that want to pick up these cars as well. Of course the car is still depreciating and we are in the winter months now.

$15-17K is a bit of an exaggeration for my area. Maybe $18-25K for the older ones. I'm sure some of those "cheap" vettes are salvage, high mileage or in otherwise poor shape.

i drove mine home for 7g last year. Needed paint and i rebuilt the engine (oil control ring).
I like doing it in small upgrade steps and i get to choose what i want on the car this way too.

yeah, i guess it makes the fd "not soo special" afterall..
i know these cars are a piece of history, lengendary status if you will but about another year or 2, pretty much any normal joe can get one of these cars for about 8gs or so..
look at the MKIV's and nsx's, even vr4's.. those are WELL above the 20k mark..
i dont get it

yeah, but the nsx started out as a $90k car.
The FD is holding its value pretty well. The crappy ones will go for $10k and need a new motor or new turbos or new paint or all of the above and then some.
The reliable ones are hard to come by for under $15k.
As far as the VR4, you can get one for $1,500-2000 needing work, ~$4-5k in decent reliable shape and ~$8k for one needing nothing. It started out as a $25k car.
At 10 years, I think most cars have hit the bottom of their depreciation curve and their values seem to flatten.

yeah but at the time of arrival for the fd, the MKIV was i believe a few g's more than the fd..
but now they lost about like what 30 percent in value?
you can get like a 95 MKIV TT with like 70k miles for like 25k, thats great..
compare that to 93 or even 94 fd with 70k miles, they go for like 13k..
i think the 95's are the only hope we have but how many are left?

I have a 93 R1 with just under 27thousand on her and i wouldn't let it go for less then 20 with or without my mods (even tho there isnt too much done). Just a sentimental kind of thing, I'm only 18 so i expect to keep it to im atleast hmm 95...ish

I'm mystified at all these people who think their car is worth $20-$25k. Where do these prices come from? Did FDs sell in this range in the recent past? The most I have ever seen an FD go for in the last year is $19k for a showroom condition 41k mile 1994, and that was at a Mazda dealer in the SF Bay Area.
$18k is about the absolute upper limit for any FD sold by a private party and it would need to have very low miles (30k or less) to even reach this.

lol. just reached 80k on it not planning on giving it away but if i had to no less then 23k
