I don't see the forces on that being such that it is likely to slip on the car while jacking/standing. You'd want to make sure it stays tight with some locktite or something though. If it were to vibrate loose, especially on track, it would become a pretty deadly little projectile (see: Felipe Massa). All in all, I'm glad to have therm welded in.

Pic isn't showing. Just wondering if this pic is of a QuickJack? Would love to see more pics of what this looks like!

So aside from dropping the transmission you can pretty much do everything under there ? Might be worth investing in one

It lifts about 2 feet. I could get maybe another 4 inches by stacking the rubber blocks it comes with. Not sure how tall the bellhousing is but I was under there this afternoon and it looks like it should clear.

Since I was looking for the information too,
in addition of Sgtblue & Bajaman, here's a scan of the factory service manual.

That's what I'll do.

I've had good luck so far by using the oem scissor jack, lifting enough to get my low profile jack to the subframe. Then I lift, place stands on the pinch welds, and repeat on the rear using the diff.

I’m going to be leaving my car on jack stands for the remainder of the winter to go single turbo, rebuild trans, and swap out all the bushings on the rear end. I’ve been using the factory jack points as shown in the service manual, but only for servicing. Would you guys recommend leaving it sitting like that long term?

Thread resurrection... is it really okay to use the front and rear subframes as jack stand points? Several posters mentioned it definitely as their preferred jack stand location at the beginning of this thread, but it seems possibly harmful to the car. The entire weight of the car will be resting on a few points of the subframe. A bent subframe is not a good thing to have...

My rationale has always been that these parts of the car already carry their portion of the vehicle's weight when on the ground/flexing under driving. If it can survive that then it should be able to survive jack stands.

The subframes are VERY thick steel, they can hold the weight plus more with no problems. I've done it multiple times in the past and have seen zero problems.

That said, ever since I got these I use them on the pinch welds on the body -

Amazon Amazon

They work awesome. Jack up from front middle of front subframe, put these on, then jack up from bottom of diff and put on the jack stands.

Mazda published how they want everyone to lift and support their car. Theres really no further discussion or speculation needed.
