Defi boost gauge problems... help please

I have all of the wires hooked up right now. The sensor is in place and hooked up as well. When I connect all the harnesses to the control unit and start the car it does not give me a reading. The gauge will light up when I turn the lights on and when I turn them off, the lights on the gauge will turn off also.(so I know my illumination wires are fine). What is the problem?? Could it be the "orange ignition on" wire? If so what is a good place to tap into for that. Thanks in advance for any info.

I have exactly the same problem right now. Exactly. I'm currently awaiting a new gauge set from the rx-7 store cos I'm pretty sure either my gauge or my CU is bad. Double check that your voltages are all right on the money (i.e. you get 12V on the orange when ignition is on, 12V on the white one when the lights are on and 12V on the red one at all times), if this is still the case, then I suspect you may have a bad gauge or CU. I'll be able to make an update on my situation when i get the new gauge set.

In the meantime, the only think I can think of is to make sure that it's *exactly* 12V on those wires...you could be getting a voltage drop or something and not know it.

This has been more of a bummer than I care to elaborate on, so I hope yours gets fixed sooner than mine has

i had a similar problem with my set where they would light up but not work. it turned out that i had a poor connection to the 12v constant. after splicing the two wires really well i had no further problems. check all you connections to make sure that they're tight. hope this helps

I had the same problem, but it turned out to be a short somewhere, when I would move the CU it would come on and off. I am in the procces of build up my stereo system so I am going to track the problem down then.

Heh, I was just about to post the same solution. Which wire did you tap into for your constant 12v?

Dude... i have no idea what wires i tapped into. I just purchased an voltage meter.... unplugged all of the harnesses and just tested the voltage of them while the car was off.... lights on.... ignition on.... etc

If noone else does... Ill post pictures of the gauge within a week. It looks sweet!

Which harnesses did you unplug? the ones in the gauge cluster? I don't want to have to go through taking that thing out again, it wasn't fun.
