BC daytime running lights

I have bought a us 1993 rx7 and need to make it canadian compliant and have to have daytime running lights. I don't want to have the headlights pop up all the time and was wondering if anyone has suggestions. I did a search on daytime running lights and didn't notice anything. This is also my first real post so I hope I don't seem like a total idiot if I missed a thread.. Thanks

How about using some 99 spec fog lights? Will this work if you leave them on all the time?

rx7store.net sells these. If you don't want to pay for the OEM ones then you can get some PIAAs that are the same size for about 1/2 the cost. Good luck.

Actually the DRL system does not use the headlights;it uses the orange lights in the bumper. You can either buy akit from canadian Tire,or find someone who is breaking a Canadian car and get the central Processing Unit #2----you will probably have to run some wires too.Check the Technical manuals section.

If you turn the light switch to the first level, this turns on the rear ligths and the front lights. And your lights do not pop up.

This is on stock rx-7s.

You should be okay. Check with your DMV in Canada. If they'll approve it.

The one problem I have found with my drl's from canadian tire is it caused it to idle pretty bad because the car didnt know there was a draw so it therefore didnt idle properly to account for that draw. All you have to do though is make sure you turn the light switch to the first level and it should be fine.

use the front bumper lights for DRL. A bit of work to make it correctly but you won't have to move the light switch to the first level.

Thanks for all in input. I'll check on the canadian tire store for the item. As well I plan to upgrade the front bumper to 99 spec so I'll try the fog lights as daytime running.
