Damn Pulsation Dampner!

Damn Pulsation Dampner!
Well, the other day i went out for a BBQ with fellow 7 owners. It turned out to be one of the last days i would be driving my car for a good while. While going to the BBQ, i started to smell raw fuel coming from the hood. So i got to the park and stopped, and saw a lake of raw gas settling on top of the motor. Also it was like a steady stream pouring from beneath the car.
I took it to ASI racing, and chad told me that the pulsation dampner and the oil metering pump were blown. So he gave me a price, and with the same amount of labor for both of the jobs, i decided to go ahead and get a Streetport w/ 3mm seals. I had 91k originial miles on the motor and turbos. $4125 installed, so i borrowed money from my mom, my boss, and most of my savings to pay for it. ASI is a really good business, i would definately reccomend anybody in the South Florida area to them. Very good customer service, and know what they are talking about. They are worth every penny.

If you're pressed for cash, then doing the work yourself can save you tons! You also learn quite a bit about your car that simply can't learn otherwise.

Shoot, I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to find a good used OMP - many people ditch 'em for premix, or when installing a Haltech.
I dunno - moreso sounds like you're turning a $100-some dollar pulsation dampener leak into a VERY pricey rebuild. Why not just fix the PD and be about your business?

well im sorry about saying OMP, i meant the oil metering lines. Everyday i would come outside to start my car there would be a lake of fuel and oil outside. So i took it to ASI and to do the work, i tought i would save a little $$ later down the road and go ahead with the rebuild. I had 91k miles on the original motor and turbo. Also upon cold start up the motor would blow blue smoke, oil.

I would also get the car out of there
not that it's a bad place but you don't need to do all of that stuff right now and you aren't saving any money by doing it now
oil metering lines are about 75 bucks new and a fpd can be a few hundred I guess. If you want I'll do the labor for a couple beers if you provide a place to work and tools. 375 bucks vs over 4000
any way good luck

if your blue smoke upon startup goes away in 15-30 sec or so, it's perfectly normal.
A well maintained FD can last over 100k mi. FPD and an oil line repair should cost you less than $500-600. Unless you are in need of a rebuild, you aren't saving any money. Keep in mind that many issues can also pop up after the engine is replaced. Many people get oil leaks and engine codes after engine replacement.
