A Couple Issues when car is cold........

Hello, and thankyou to anyone in advance to anyone that can give me helpful advice. I got the car about half a year ago, and have had the small problems ever since I got it, and they have just been annoying.
First off...... The car smokes just a little bit when ever it has a cold start and then goes away after the car has warmed up. I have read some on this and thoaught maybe it could be the turbos, but any more ideas would be great...
Second...... Also when the car is cold and I try to drive it, the car becomes really jerky on light acceleration, almost undrivable when its cold.
Third.......... After the car has warmed up and I am accelarating the car seems to have a slight "Burp" whenever it crosses over into boost.

Also the car seems to have a very potent smell of gasoline, but there is no visable gas leaks..

Thanks again in advance......

Smoking - could be turbos going out. Does your car use more than a normal amount of oil? Does the smoke have a strong smell?

Cold jerking - probably the good ol' 3000 RPM hesitation on the stock ECU. Have you added an extra ground from the negative terminal to the chassis? All stock ECU cars will have a jerkiness around 3k, worse when cold. Only true fix is a PowerFC.

Third point - see above on the 3k hesitation.

Strong gas smell - you need to fix this SOON. If you're leaking gas, that's an engine fire waiting to happen. With the car cold, jumper the fuel pump test connector (search on that) and let the fuel pump run for a few minutes. If you smell fuel from the intake manifold, you have a leak - FIX IT. If not, it could be the brake booster vacuum lines. The original ones let fuel smell through, you can replace them with the booster line recall kit. Ray at Malloy Mazda can get you the right part, it's pretty cheap if I recall and can be installed in 1 minute with a pair of pliers.

The list of engine Mods are:
Pettit ECU
HKS intakes
Downpipe
Greddy Exhaust
ACT clutch
Emissions remove
Turbos were made non-sequential by previous owner
TurboXS manual boost controller

I think thats all for the engine modifications

Thanks for all your help, I will try all of the suggestions tommorow when I get a chance, but I will try to answer some of your questions for now......
The ECU is not the stock ECU as I said in the previous post. I am running the Pettit ECU.
As for the smoking, The car does not seem to be using more oil than normal. The smoking is only light but noticable on a cold start. The smoke dosent seem to have any color other than a white tint and a strong smell. Tommorow I am going to check in the intercooler piping for oil to try and rule out the turbos.
The gas smell..... I will research the fuel pump idea you stated and try to do it tommorow. how do I smell for gasoline coming from the intake manifold? Just guess the smells location as best as possible. If it is coming from the intake manifold, how would I go about fixing this?

if it's smelling of gas around the intake manifold it's a likely sign of a bad fuel pulsation dampener. Get a flashlight and have a look around the fuel rails... particularly towards the back of the engine.... don't be afraid to get in there close for a sniff.

Ok, Here is an update on the car for today. I had a chance to take all of the intercooler piping and the intercooler itself off today, only to find a decent amount of oil (enough to stick your finger in the intercooler and bring out oil) inside them all. What are all possible possibilities for this problem? I am assuming this is where the light bit of smoke is coming from on a cold start........

any ideas on why there would be oil in the intercooler? I have tried to search on this a little and found a couple things saying this was normal in ours cars... to what extent though? mine had enough in it to tilt on an angle and have oil slow drip from the holes on to the ground.......
