Could this be a bad water pump?

Well I'm currently purchasing parts to make my cooling system better. Driving around this morning I noticed something and I wanted to know what you guys thought.

At stop and go driving my temp gauge goes above the halfway mark. I noticed that if I rev and hear some fluid gurgling from behind (or around) the glove box the temp gauge goes down. Is this normal? Previous car did not have this problem at all, so I dont know what this really is. So do I need a new waterpump? or is it just smart altogether to get one anyway?

I'm getting a radiator, and thermostat so far.

Thanks.

I bet your not completely full of coolant, check that first. Another possibility is caps that are not holding at the correct pressure.

I'm having the same gurgling problem. BUt my mechanic has found exhaust gas in the coolant. Is this a symptom of failing Apex seals?

If you live a clean life you haven't filled it completely. Raise the front end up so the filler cap is higher than the heater core and add more.
