Arrow Cooling Question

I don't know what to do. I have searched this topic and read most of them and i still don't know what to do.

My problem is this: the stock temeperature gauge shows a little below half but my aftermarkket one shows 210 and sometimes 215-220.

I have pluged all the holes around the radiator. Previous owner has put in pettit ast. I did that Dave Disney's fan mod and every time i turn it on i think it get's higher temp than lower. The fans kick in when i turn the switch but i don't know why the temp goes up.

I really don't have money now for aftermarket or any radiator. So anybody else has any thought or comments on what i should do? Are the fans both sopose to run toward the engine or from the engine out? maybe one of them runs from the engine out so air can't get in from the ouside. Please reply with your thoughts. Thanks

maybe one of ur fan isn't working, put ur hand in the front opening after u turn the switch on, you should be able to feel the fan sucking air.

I took that plastic off, the one that gets air from IC and gives it to air box iin order to check the fans if they are working, and i can see both of them working. But on the front of the vehicle i feel like they are blowing out, not in. I can feel the air when i put my hand in the front mount.

Again with the polarity. I didn't touch any other wires other than two wires in the relay 3 and 4 like it says on the Dave Disney's Fan mod. Someone told me that one fan is sopose to blow out the engine and other to engine.

I'm assuming that the previous owner has mixed up the wires leading to the fans. I had the same problem with my car - previous owner mixed them up.
You may have to pull the connectors apart and move some pins around or cut the wiring and reconnect in the proper order. Your stock gauge may have been showing good temps when the car was stationary but even this gauge should show an overheat when you are moving as the two air flow directions collide.

An engine cooling fan should never blow against the air flow direction to the car!!!!

the funny thing is, that stock gauge shows very good temp. It's a little below half and it never moves above that position. I don't think the previous owner touched the fan wiring cause he didn't know a thing about this car. When i only turn my lights i mean driving lights, the temp stays around 210-215 but when i turn the fans all the time on, then the temps kind of goes to 220.

If you are driving at speed, with the air forced into the air duct, the air goes from the outside, through the radiator, toward the engine. No fan is going to generate enough power to fight the air flow. Your fans should be drawing air from the outside and blowing it toward the engine. Sounds like one of your fans is either turning backwards or the fan blade is reversed. If your temp goes up when the fans are on, they may be blowing hot air from the engine compartment over the radiator.

hmmm. So what would be the best thing for me to do? What do i have to take off to see both fans easily? I'll check the fans and you are both sure that both fans have to run from outside to the engine? After i check them both, what else can i do?

The fact that the temp climbs when your fan is on full time, is consitent with the fan blowing in the opposite direction. I agree with ronarndt. Check your fan blade on the fan that is blowing out, otherwise it's wiring.

I would undo whatever I did relating to the fan mod and see if that makes a difference. If it does, then you can do the single wire fan mod at the ecu. If doesn't, then you need to get the service manual, and look in section Z. You can get it from www.iluvmyrx7.com and make sure the wires are going where they are supposed to.

I will check both fans tomorrow, I'll disconnect the fan mod that i did and i'll try to check the wiring. Is there anything else that could be the problem. I'll post tomorrow again what happens with the fans and if they are reversed. Thanks

Ok, today i checked both fans and both of them are working and blowing toward the engine. Even though it feels like it's blowing from the engine out. I checked it by cutting small peaces of paper and puting them in front of the car and the fans sucked them in. So that means that both of them are blowing from outside in.
Well that excludes the possibility that they are reversed.

Anybody has any other opinions on what i should do?

Make sure you aren't running too much antifreeze in your coolant. Try running 30% antifreeze to 60% water with 10% Redline Water Wetter in it. Or you could try the Evans NPG coolant.

Today I also connected that black wire with yellow stripe that is next to ecu, it's not connected to anything and it's a female connector. I connected it to a switch and now every time i turn the switch on, the fans kick in. It doesn't matter if the key is in on position or off.

I was also thinking about flushing the radiator, but i want to know how do you get the air out of the cooling system then. On the FC there was this small screw where you unscrew it a little bit and the air comes out. On FD i can't find this screw or anything that would let the air out.
