Coolant Overflow tank

Can someone show me a pic of the top of the overflow bottle...not where the lid is but where the ast goes too...mine has the spot for the ast and then just a open groment which coolant spills out of...what is this for??anyone have a diagram?

Do you have a pic of this "open grommet"? I'm fairly sure that the overflow bottle only has the neck for the fill and a nipple for the AST connection.

here is a pic of what im talking about

also i think i have a blown coolant seal but when the car starts to warm up it pushes water out of that hole on the overflow bottle, if i plug it up it just pushes it out of the filler on the overflow bottle, and the engine gets really hot like 210+

but the car cranks perfect everytime anytime, and no smoke

will blown coolant seals make all your coolant back up into the overflow bottle and dump out all over the ground, and make the car overheat??

Yes it might, hot combustion gases will be forced into your coolant system, increasing the pressure and will then force coolant out of your engine and into the overflow and dump itself on the floor, leaving your engine with less coolant to cool itself and then increases the chances of over heating.

I think it's to allow the overflow tank to drain if it gets too full.

that hole is for the tank to breathe.. if ur spilling coolant from there you probably have too much coolant in your overflow tank... whats your level at?

well once the motor starts heating up it starts pushing coolant out of that hole untill the low coolant buzzer comes on by that time the motor is already running around 200 and its about time to shut it off

well the filler cap and ast cap where mixed up...i put the cap with the spring back on the ast and it dosent dump coolant out there anymore..but it seems the system is really pressurized! i have a aftermarket gauge right where the upper rad hose goes into the rad and it shows the coolant getting really hot but the stock gauge dosent even move...only sometimes it moves to the middle....could a stuck thermostat do this?

The stock coolant temperature gauge will basically stay near the middle for about 180-240F. The stock fans don't turn on until 221F unless there is electrical load. 210F is within Mazda's operating temps.

i took the t-stat out and the system still pressures up alot...dosent get hot tho...but i can let it sit overnight and it will still have a **** load of pressure if i try to take the cap off the next morning...like it spews water and mist all of the place....does that mean the ast rad cap is bad?...its a .9 bar

Could be your waterpump. Goodfellas had something similar in which a new water pump fixed his issue:

Also, you may want to do the bubble test:
