Welcome to eBay. Many sellers now do this to keep the apparent price low when sorting items by price. It is annoying.

This is collectible in the sense that there will probably always be someone willing to buy it for their collection - but you are never going to become rich off of it. If you are buying it in the hope of making money I think the 2-4% or so per year that a bank will give you would be a more reliable bet.
