ejmack1: If you end up selling the brackets, I'd like mine without the letters cut out. Powdercoat or natural aluminum finish is fine. Thanks.

Well one problem with that is it would cost me 138 dollars out of pocket to order 1 bracket....

We will see what i can do, I can go pick up a thin sheet of aluminum and cut it to the exact dimensions of this bracket.

I would have no problem shellin out 138 bucks for a prototype, but im a broke *** college student .

No big deal. I'm still in-- maybe the cover will grow on me. Otherwise, I'll go topless

No, I meant of the cover. The bracket you can pretty much get a good image of, but I was just wondering how the cover would look. If you can't get a pic of one then thats ok.

Good work, keep us updated!

It looked like Jeff was up to it, though I am sure he is smart enough to take all the orders before committing, you know how people are.

I don’t see how this would be that hard of a project for most of the people around here, I mean you guys work on a rx7s for gods sakes. This is merely a angled piece of aluminum with a few holes placed in appropriate locations. It requires a drill, drillbit, centerpunch, hacksaw, file, ruler, 90* square, and a quick trip to the local hardware shop. Most people have these tools at the minimum.
Just remember there is no substitute for a nice sharp hacksaw blade and a little patience, I think everyone here is capable of making this small bracket at minimal cost 5~10$ max if you have the tools already.

The problem is making 30+ brackets exactly the same

I am looking for a shop that would make me a prototype piece off of my CAD drawing, but everywhere i go to say it would cost about 150 for the first piece, then 20-30 with a bulk order of 20+.

Jeff was up for it, but he wanted to make sure it would be worth his time, if you know what i mean.

Some are just fabricationally challenged.

Speaking of which, if you ditch the cutouts for the lettering your fabricator will probably charge you less to make these. You should be able to tell which coil goes where, and if you really need any more help than that you could just mark them with sharpie marker or a sticker.

And if you need the letters "RX-7" cut into your bracket, that's just another issue entirely. Cutout letters won't look stock, if that's the look you're going for. If you just feel the need to add a bit of bling to your engine bay you could put a sticker on the cover, it would be much more detailed than the cutout, and you could use whatever text or graphics you like.

Actually the cut outs don't cost anything extra thats the only reason i decided to do that...

the Coil designation cut outs i ditched in the first few pics... as you could tell if you had read the entire thread.

The part that had RX7 cut into it was a "cover" piece... which would be entirely "bling" as you put it anyway.....

Also, what about a bracket for mounting the T2(stronger) coils into the FD or are the mounting points the same on both types of coils?
