Hmmm...that's odd. I see 7 "definites" and about 2 "maybes" all within a 24 hour period. Oh well. Guess I'll rig up some FC coils and wires on my own time

here is a more accurate measurement with an added look... not sure what you guys want, but the dimensions are a little more accurate on this representation.

Instead of the previous design this secures all 3 points of the coil.... any suggestions?

These are exact costs of the piece itself and shipping to me, so shipping would be added to each person individually which would probably be 4-5 bucks.

I wouldn't be making anything on this, so anyone that wants to check measurements and give me some ideas, it would be appreciated.

Design Above using 6061 Aluminum, .118 inch.
Powder Coated a Glossy Black.
This total is for 15 orders.

$23.69 Each
$355.35 Total
$5.92 Shipping
------------------
$361.27 Grand Total

Design Above using 6061 Aluminum, .118 inch.
This total is for 15 orders.

$20.21 Each
$303.15 Total
$5.92 Shipping
------------------
$309.07 Grand Total

Lets say $60 on plug wires (includes 8 wires), which would include 8mm Taylor plugs. We could split them up into 4's so that would be half the cost.

Early Approximation for a kit.

$28.69 including shipping.
$30.00
~$5 bolts and nuts
------------------------------
$63.69 Total

So coils out from UIM for a cleaner area under there, new plug wires, and some piece of mind knowing those coils are getting as hot. And the ease of replacing plug wires. I dont think thats a bad price at all.

If anyone has a set of coils laying around, could you measure... EXACTLY in mm if possible the distance between each hole on the coils and the width, height, and length of the coils...

I would like 2-3 measurements to insure that they are all the same. I have the measurements on mine, just want to compare them.

All you ever do is critisize things man, I for one like the look of nothing under the UIM, and its so much easier to change plug wires and change a coil if one ever goes out...

Where are those pics of your engine bay?

Thats like saying that if you only have one thing in an oven, it won't get hot.... but if you have a bunch of stuff in it, it will....

Anyone know how well you can tap a .157 inch aluminum? If that is enough those holes can be tapped so we won't have to use a nut on the backside...
It doesn't cost anything more to tap the holes, so i guess worst case there we have to put a nut on the back.

I wasnt trying to **** with you this time this is just pointless
your bringing something out from its correct location and showing it

seriously how often do you have to change out coils? If your car is tuned correctly you shouldnt have to change out spark plugs more than a couple times a year either. I already have that look of nothing under the uim the coils are way to the right and you cant tell they are there and wont notice they are gone from there either its a perfect fit thats why theres bolt holes moulded on top of your rotor housings for the coil bracket!!!

heres a pic before we put it back into the car

dont worry sweetie youll get to see a pic of the engine bay.....in a magazine

im surpised, with all the bitching you do

Personally I just think it looks good over in that area... Claynes pics look great, and I figured it would be better to make one bracket....

Im thinkin about making some custom brackets for my Koyo, the headlight relays, and the fuse box on the drivers side....

What would be the point of all that? Prolly nothing other than to make it look better, clean things up, and make a personalized statement about the car.....

Why do people move the battery in back, when all they have to do is get a smaller one?

Why do we even own these cars when we could go get something more reliable.... there are all kinds of unanswered questions, and opinions on why we do things....if you dont like it, then don't do it.

I think it looks better this way anyway....

I can remove my engine in about 30 minutes.... wanna compare E-***** sizes? Some people don't have cruise control, and some people don't want it.... I have no need for it, when am I going to be going on a long trip in the 7? If I do, I can guarantee I will not want to be at one consitant speed the entire time

and key word in your statement, "they won't get THAT hot."

I can remove the cruise control easily.but what about the electrical connector? will I have to use some kind of resistor and or will I get a check engine light if I were to disconnect the connector. Its useles s in the engine bay and all it does is take up space.

nah, just unplug it... no resistors needed, its not an essential part of the car, the ECU could careless whether it is there or not.

I am interested, my main question is what needs to be done to wire them up? Do the wires already there reach over to the fender? Or does the wiring harness need to be modifyed?
