Clutch problem, but what exactly?
Hey guys, I recently replaced my PPF as my previous one was cracked! As I drove off, there was still vibration, so I got my mechanic to take it for a drive and said straight away, thats its my clutch. What exactly can cause a clutch to vibrate quite vigiously... broken clutch fork? I'm planning to replace it as soon as I can though... but i'm just curious
thanks guys!
thanks guys!
aftermarket clutch??
If so, did it occur before or after the PPF was cracked?
While replacing the PPF, did anyone check the condition of the drive shaft universals?
so after you replaced it you drove it and it was shaking? Yes, thats correct. I get vibration as I take off, reverse and downshift... so anytime the clutch engages.
if it was the clutch it sounds more like the counter weight is in wrong or could be the pressure plate not mounted flush with the flywheel,... but you would hear it hitting the inside of the transmission.
if it were the clutch fork you wouldn't be able to get it in gear.
what mods do you have?
aftermarket clutch??

I have an exhaust, and intake. As far as I know, the clutch is stock.

My PPF was broken ever since I purchased my FD so I guess it occured after it was cracked. My drive shaft was taken off due to the bolts being the wrong way around, but nothing was mentioned about the condition of the universals.

Well my mechanic said straight away its my clutch, so i've ordered a new clutch, should be here tomorrow hopefully, i'll remachine the flywheel, and my mechanic is going to check my transmission out too. A clutch problem can link of all sorts of things. Your clunking in the back end would most likely be your bushes/pillowballs... same thing happened to mine. When I would reverse, clunck clunck etc.. but I purchased control arms etc from a 2002 FD and now she's beautiful. Timmy - Don't give up that easy! The satisfaction of that drive when your FD is perfect is worth it all...
