Is there a Removal tool for the Quick Disconnect at the engine block

Hey guys looks like the connection from the Coolant hose from the Quick Disconnect at the Engine Block to the Firewall has severed, Basically the Plastic Nipple end of the Quick Disconnect broke off and was lodged in the Coolant hose running to the Firewall. I have Pm'd a few peeps here who had a similar issue in regards to getting this dam Quick Disconnect off of the metal pipe running to the Block. I am having a tough time with the limited space to get the dam thing off. I getting at it from over top of the car under the hood. I just cant seem to get the right Pliers to get in there and grab it and twist it off. I hear that Ford apparently makes a generic part for this. I dug a little deeper and found possibly the Removal tool part number# 307-123(T82L-9500-AH) i thought i run this by you guys to see if you guys have used the removal tool and if in fact is the correct Removal Tool part # I cant get this Dam thing off! i am also replacing the Coolant Hose that runs from it to the Firewall and having a heck of time removing the gay Mazda Clamp from the top of the hose. I basically cut the hose off but that little piece remains with the clamp in tact right up next to the firewall of the car, again hardly any dam room to get that clamp gripped and pulled down and out! any tips on that be great aswell.

I break them in to small parts and toss them far away .Push the hose on the metal pipe and eleminate a failure point . Life is easy .

On the contrary side, some people like to keep the engine bay as stock as possible.
Also, this is a very common item, it is actually a FORD product or there is a FORD version available for about $13 at any auto parts store. The resin fitting is actually a nice insulator, keeps the rubber hose from getting as much abuse.

I think the term 'quick disconnect' is a misnomer though. It is more of a 'one time quick connect'.

Just destroy it as Garco says to get it off, but...replace it with another one.
AUTOZONE and PEPBOYS and O'REILLY'S has scads of them in their 'HELP!' sections.

Have you taken the intake elbow off? That will really open up some space if you haven't....

Can it be done with out taking the elbow off? i have heard a few of them have done so without removing anything. I can turn the Quick Disconnect counter clockwise, i am trying to apply the pulling force at the same wondering if by just turning it it will make its way up the Metal pipe and finally to the point where i can pull it off. I am gonna grab a pair of Flat Band Hose Clamp pliers and Hose Removal Pliers to pull this **** off.

I'm sure it could be removed without taking the elbow off, but you are complaining about not having much room to work with so why wouldn't you? it takes a couple minutes to take the elbow off and greatly increases your working space, making a "special tool" not needed at all... hell at this point had you already done it you might be done with the job entirely ...

You could use a screwdriver and a hammer, would break it up nicely

You use a wrench, i forget what size it was but its a standard size wrench. You slide the correct size wrench over the two tabs and the fitting comes right off. I like to use the fitting because it keeps the metal tube from rusting and it keeps the oil from dripping over the rubber hose when you do an oil change.

I got the dam piece of **** off finally. How did i do it? well didnt go from the top down, i went from the bottom up. I jacked the car up and man was much easier to access the piece of ****. Got it off, got the hose off at the firewall from below aswell. Just ordered a new Hose from Mazda will be putting it in tommorow. I went ahead and picked up the Ford Clone Quick Disconnect, will be inserting it back on the block. The ford one looks much better, The Clips are bigger aswell, which you can see this time and probably grab them easily coming from the top down. Finally this is all come to an end. My Hands are destroyed haaaaa, i got Bandages on three fingers. Will come to the Hood of an FD RX7. Its worth it, Fastest Car on the street, and the nicest looking!
