did any one make how to for the wiring of this pumps... i assume that we will need to use some relays - RP Fuel Pump Relay from rx7.com and 14 gauge wire

i only plan on running single 044 pump in my setup as fitting the twin pumps in the thank with looped 6an lines and level censor is pain

I used the stock wiring to power a relay and a direct run from the battery to run two pumps. A little splicing is necessary. Not to mention it was a little easier as my battery is in the driver's bin. Is that what you're looking for?

That is the same relay I used on my car. The harness gives the install a professional look.

Don't run 14 AWG. Run 12 AWG. Technically the 044 will only draw 18 amps but its never a good idea to run so close to the wires maximum recommended ampacity at 60C (20 amps for most consumer grade 14 AWG).

It is my understanding that tyco bought bosch relay division and you can not get an actual branded bosch relay anymore.

This is what CJM recommends: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/prf-50102

This is actually something that we stock and sell all the time, so we should probably add it to the website as an option when purchasing a twin pump.

At $40, its a pricey option for a relay and wiring, but heres what you would like about it:

It comes with a pre-wired relay receptacle with mounting tab. Just plug the relay in; it will only physically plug in the correct way. Do not concern yourself with terminal/pin numbers, just look at the wires. On each wire it is physically printed in small text every 12" or so where to connect the wire.

Connect the 18 gauge black wire to chassis ground, this is the relay ground.
Connect the 18 gauge yellow wire to switched power (such as stock fuel pump power wire), this is the relay trigger/activation.
Connect the 12 gauge red wire to the battery, this is the battery power for the larger pump
Connect the 12 gauge yellow wire to the fuel pump positive terminal

Included is a circuit breaker you can put inline the red wire. Or you can toss it and put in a standard fuse.

We recommend a separate one of these kits per fuel pump.

I bought my relay from Pep Boys it was 10 bucks and My buddy has 2 track rotary cars running this relay and he been happy with them. Well track cars get less use than our daily cars so that's the question now

Yea I'm sure we get what we pay for , The RX7 I got had a areomotive a1000 pump and it burned out cuz no relay so Im taking the extra step in doing it right , Maybe later on I will get a better relay . Ill keep and eye on it.,
