Question Chevy Small Block Conversion

I am just about to purchase a 3rd gen 7 and planning ahead when the engine dies, i was wondering if it would be practical and doable to put in a Chevy Small Block (inexpensive) and tune that at much lower costs to high horsepower. And if do-able what kind of things should i look out for if i decide to do this.

I dont know if something like this has been posted before because i just found out about this site 2 days ago. So dont flame me or anything

Some advice would be appreciated if this would be an ok thing to do, and the possible costs or problems associated with putting a small block in the 7

Yes it can be done.
No it doesn't require screwing up the 50/50 weight distribution.
Yes most people here will flame you for wanting to do it.
