Check out this shifter bushing for FD

Check out these shifter bushing for our FD. Our stock ones are made of plastic, they tend to wear out after long use. It is something to put on while you put on those short shifters.

Widely available from Mazda Motorsports and Mazdatrix for a long time. Search for "aluminum shifter bushing".

They are from www.evo-r.net. Same exact item as R magic, but for half of their price.

$15 from Mazdatrix and I think $9 from Mazda Motorsports. It's a friggen hunk of aluminum, no sense in paying more.

Replaced mine with the MazdaTrix one after I took apart the shifter assembly. The plastic bushing was worn down flat. Big difference once replaced.

aluminium ones won't last as long as the brass one. EVO-R one is made of brass just like RE and knight Sports.

Mine broke and I drove my car around for about a month before replacing it. It will just hit metal on metal, that's all. I put an aluminum on from Mazdatrix. Seems to make shifting a little crisper.

When I serviced my shifter, I noticed a WORLD of improvement once I replaced the OE white nylon bushing. Before, the shifter had a LOT of play when in neutral. Once the new bushing was in place, there was little to no play in neutral. 12 months later, it has a little play again. Not nearly as much as before I replaced it, but there is more than there was 12 months ago. The nylon bushings are something like $4 from Ray at Malloy. If one bushing at $4 shipped will last me at least two years, I don't see the point in needing an aluminum one.

I wish it was that simple for me. Ever since I installed my new short shifter about 2 years ago, I've had to replace that damn nylon bushing 3 times. I'm done! It's time for me to try the aluminum version.
