Canton racing products used to make something very similar to this can but I don't see the CAnton one for sale any more. I've the CAnton 2 quts. AST on my car.

I don't like that seam at the bottom of the can. One other thing, you've to make sure there is a 0.1 orifice at the bottom outlet hose otherwise coolant will bypass the radiator and your engine will overheat.

Same here, I've already got one. Not bad for $80 or so, will probably go up though. Looks strong as well.

hmmm, looks custom made for personal preference or something

how come they didnt weld on nipples to it? why did they have to use threaded barb adapters?

It was probably easier to use the barbs instead, they might not of had access to a proper welder. Also I think the barbs would grip better than just nipples.

Odd looking AST, but if it works it's not that bad of a price for it.

If you've got a tig welder, you can make an AST for less than $30 in parts. It kills me to see how much some of these places charge for this part....but, that's supply and demand for you.

The top piece is just a Moroso filler neck...available for $20 from Summit. A piece of aluminum pipe that sized can be had for free from most steel supply houses.

If most people hadn't already bought an AST, I'd consider making them and selling them for $70 shipped.

i know a lot of people who still don't have ASTs. If you have the means necessary, it'd defintiely be profitable for you to make them Sonny.

Am I missing something, or is that AST missing the dowel on the bottom to fit into the mounting hole?

does it have tabs to mount it? or do you have to make a custom bracket?

It comes with a mounting bracket that bolts to the intercooler.

I e-mailed the seller to gauge my interest, I wont post what he is looking to make on it, but he did tell me. It is a pretty nice piece I just think I'm gonna hold off and wait a bit.

It's a tad more than a regular AST, but this one does look a fair bit better... its only a little more.
