Exclamation Car will not START HELP!

Ok, I drove it home the other night and it all of a sudden died as I drove it into the driveway. I thought maybe my dumbass just wasn't driving well that night and I stalled it, so I went to start it back up and it wouldn't so I rolled it down a hill and jumped it and drove it around the block and into my driveway. It still wont start, I think maybe it's just my starter, it sounds like it's trying to turn over but no luck. Where is the starter and how do I take it out? can someone supply me with some pictures?

Your car is possesed, man. Take it to the nearest Catholic church for an exorcism!!

Starter is on the drivers side of the car. Lift the side using the tire changing jack, place jackstand in appropriate location. Right where the transmission should be you will see a big aluminum pan held on with four 10 mm bolts. Pull this pan. You will see a SMALL cylindrical object mounted to the transmission. This is your starter. I have no pics, so someone else might be so kind as to put them on

When you say won't start: won't turn the engine at all, or turns the engine but it won't catch?

Thanks dude, that might help a lot! I'm going to follow the instructions later today when I get hom, my dad will help me....hopefully that will fix this wierd upcoming of no starting. O and spurvo, it sounds like it starts to turn the engine over....extremely slowly and then it makes the "clicking" noise and I just stop right there. I have tried several times hoping something would work, but nothing. I'll update once I try it later on.

How is that battery? If it is turning over, then the starter is engaging and is probably fine. It sounds a lot to me like your battery has been drained too many times and is damaged. I know that a weak battery can effect ALL KINDS of systems in computer controlled cars, though I've not yet run into a problem on my car. It will cause a car to die at idle. The girlfriend had a blown cell in her battery (Miata). It ran very poorly, with low power throughout most of the rpm range, stumbling, and would barely start. Sound familiar?

If the car is running, I would personally go over to Sears automotive, of all places, and have them run a free charging system test on your car. They will be able to tell in about 15 seconds if your battery is not running well, and if it is, they can also test the alternator, though the alt test won't happen if the battery is dead. The more I think about the problems you've had, the more I think you need to get this checked out.

Yeah, it sounds to me like a bad battery. The clicking you are hearing is your starter solenoid. If you try to start a car with a dead battery, you will hear the solenoid clicking. Buy a new one and throw it in. It might solve your other problems too.

If the battery is bad, would I be able to jump it? Because my dad and I tried that and nothing happened it kept doing the same thing. I think maybe the battery is just bad enough to where it can't even be recharged.

no the car isn't really running too well, doesn't even have enough power to really make it into 3rd gear..........really NO power at all. Very wierd. But I'll try all those things first then try new battery, and if that doesn't work I'll move on to something else and see if another problem exists.

The jumpering will only work to get the car started easier, and sometimes not even then. Once you pull the cables, the car will be running off the bad battery, and will run very poorly. A battery with a bad cell will not recharge, and will actually constantly put a drain on your charging system, except when the car is not running. This can lead to a burnt alternator if you drive it too much under this condition. If you want to be sure, just replace it, unless you go get it tested.

I think the pic in your sig is really ugly and that's why your car won't start. Clean the car and get a better angle and then it will be happier with you...maybe
