Interesting. When in limp mode, is the timing just retarded, or is it bucking and jerking as well?

Sounds like limp mode. You need to pull the codes again. Not sure how you get a code like "4D" and not all codes will put the car into limp mode.
What led you to change the OMP, ECU amd harness? Background?

Hi mate,, first we have to esstablish if you are in limp mode. When my car was in limp mode you could drive the car fine as long as you only squeezed the gas pedal a little it didnt matter at what REV range you was at, but if you tried to squeeze the gas pedal any more than a little it back fired and hickuped preventing acceleration, is yours like this or car drives 100% fine until you hit 4000 rpm???.
Ok you need to pull the ECU codes and give us the correct numbers you pull so we know what sensors may be to blame.

Just for reference the oil metering pump will put the car in limp mode, did you buy a second hand one may also be faulty.

My car is the opposite. Bucks and jerks under 3k...not sure if either one of us is in limp mode. I would check your TPS, although you should be having issues before 4k with that.

Correct. While looking at the boost gauge, you will not see positive manifold pressure before timing is retarded (or will not advance). As long as you see vacuum, it runs normally. And any of the OMP codes will put the car into limp mode. But as far as buying a second-hand OMP there isn't really a viable option, at least not here in the States. A new OMP will set you back about $1400 U.S.
