Any way to trick the ECU out of limp home?

Well now that I'm starting to realize you can't fool the ECU into thinking the OMP is working. Is there a way to combat the limp home mode? I can live with the check engine light blinking, but not the limp home. What exactly does the ECU trigger limp home for? Does it only do it for the OMP failure?

The limp-home mode is common for modern EFI systems. If a serious problem is detected (like a failed OMP) the ECU limits power and/or revs to reduce the risk of further engine damage. I don’t know about the S5 ECU specifically, but often you can fool the ECU into thinking a removed component is still connected by replacing it by a similar electrical load, often just a resistor of the correct value.
