cant get front main bearing off of transmission

I've looked at several transmission guides and they seem to be able to get the front main bearings and countershaft bearings off. I've used several pullers and the bearing wont budge, I even chipped one puller. I can't get any pullers to fit behind the bearings, I can only grip the snap ring groove. Somebody mentioned pry bars but I don't see how that will work without damaging the gears.

Anyone know how to get these off without the sst?

Isn't there a snap ring in the bearing groove? You grip the snap ring, not the bearing itself. Ditto with the pry bars - the tip of the bar lifts under the snap ring.

Also make sure you removed the locking ring on the input shaft right in front of the bearing.

You wouldn't be the first one to do that.
