I don't plan on keeping the 8 forever so why tie up money into a depreciating asset when I could write off the lease and keep my money where it should be......If you think that every rich person buys their cars outright then you got the wrong info.....It is only beneficial to buy the car if you plan on keeping it for at least 10 years....otherwise there is no benefit in buying.

Despite what you think, bringing a car that rare to these shores and having it legalized is a waste of money, especially a 2002 Spirit R. The car in question will probably cost (with purchasing, exporting, legalizing, etc.) about as much as the exotics you call a waste of money. In fact, as soon as you buy a car, it immediately begins to lose value.

So you aren't going to buy this car to show off? Seems to me you are not really sure of your own opinion.

Oh' the irony.

Wouldn't that just be a big waste of money? Let me count the ways.

1.Hiring a lawyer.
2.Having said lawyer write up paperwork.
3.Flying said lawyer to have me sign paperwork.
4.Paying me for the meeting and signature with said lawyer.
5.Having said lawyer deal with local police after he solicits a gambling proposition in an unauthorized gambling institution.
6.Flying said lawyer home.
7.Getting sued by said lawyer for jail/Bubba time.
8.Losing wager with me.

In all seriousness though, I was not out to make an argument. I just think it is a waste of time and money to do what you want to do. If you wan't to spend the money, by all means, go for it. I am done with this thread.

BTW can someone delete this thread? I guess you're right about me and I just made everything up so I can be cool here. My whole life was about being accepted in the FD forum and I failed. There is nothing left for me to live for. I got owned and I didn't see it coming. Hopefully I will still get the 1:18 scale spirit R.

 

BTW I changed my mind on the spirit R. I'm getting one of these and I'll save money because I don't have to convert to LHD.
