I don't plan on keeping the 8 forever so why tie up money into a depreciating asset when I could write off the lease and keep my money where it should be......If you think that every rich person buys their cars outright then you got the wrong info.....It is only beneficial to buy the car if you plan on keeping it for at least 10 years....otherwise there is no benefit in buying.

PS, if you really want to convert the car to LHD, it should be possible. You'll need the firewall, dash, steering column & rack, and quite a few other bits from a LHD car. You might also need to extend all the ECU wiring in order to relocate it to the new passenger side (right side in LHD cars). It's a lot of work, but it should be possible. I'd bet turbojeff on these forums could do it, given enough time and money.
First informative post in 5 pages....thank you!!!

Despite what you think, bringing a car that rare to these shores and having it legalized is a waste of money, especially a 2002 Spirit R. The car in question will probably cost (with purchasing, exporting, legalizing, etc.) about as much as the exotics you call a waste of money. In fact, as soon as you buy a car, it immediately begins to lose value.

So you aren't going to buy this car to show off? Seems to me you are not really sure of your own opinion.

Wouldn't that just be a big waste of money? Let me count the ways.

1.Hiring a lawyer.
2.Having said lawyer write up paperwork.
3.Flying said lawyer to have me sign paperwork.
4.Paying me for the meeting and signature with said lawyer.
5.Having said lawyer deal with local police after he solicits a gambling proposition in an unauthorized gambling institution.
6.Flying said lawyer home.
7.Getting sued by said lawyer for jail/Bubba time.
8.Losing wager with me.

In all seriousness though, I was not out to make an argument. I just think it is a waste of time and money to do what you want to do. If you wan't to spend the money, by all means, go for it. I am done with this thread.

Good Luck to you sir.

I can't believe this thread is still going on ! What a complete waste of bandwidth.

If your going to do it then do it and post when you have done it! You asked for opinions and got them. Stop wasting our time with what your going to do or want to do and just do it! If your so rich why would you care what other people think, because obviously you already know better..right?

On second thought... I'm just going to call .

p.s. Have a nice day!

Definitely a budget-minded rich guy. He obviously doesn't want to waste a million bucks, whether it's US or CDN:

At least we're not looking to trade a pocket-bike for a Spirit R here:

Lowballing on someone's FD for sale:

Looking for 13's in an N/A FC:

And then we jump straight to asking dumb n00b questions in the FD section, and talking a lot of stupid trash. So I'll go ahead and second that call of BS. You're nothing but a kid with big dreams and poor english skills, so quit wasting our time. Let's see some photos of your daily-driver RX-8, with "LHD spirit R" written on the windshield using soap or shoe polish, or just don't reply at all.

Why don't you ask rocket 7 to check out my 8? He lives in Toronto too!

Please enlighten me on how I can improve my english. I was homeschooled and my mother always said my english was gooder than most....

BTW can someone delete this thread? I guess you're right about me and I just made everything up so I can be cool here. My whole life was about being accepted in the FD forum and I failed. There is nothing left for me to live for. I got owned and I didn't see it coming. Hopefully I will still get the 1:18 scale spirit R.

BTW I changed my mind on the spirit R. I'm getting one of these and I'll save money because I don't have to convert to LHD.

I love being a post *****.
