Im looking for a base 86 n/a to strip and try to get into the high 13z with a streetport,intake,exhaust,89-91 rotors.....and some major stripage....I know the base is 2600lbs stock...how much will it weigh stripped of everything except a 10lb racing seat?

my guess is 2200lbs....

2200lbs is very doubtful in my opinion, but i have seen someone on here that said his s5 na weighed 2440lbs his sn is kahren i think, and that was with lots of weight reduction

id say 2550 is an easily achievable number, take out the ac, spare tire, get a lightweight flywheel, single outlet exhaust instead of dual, and get a tII hood, and if u dont want to keep your power steering you can take that out to get another 15 lbs off, but im probably going to keep my power steering but not really 100% sure yet

2200 is a bit of a stretch i think. on top of stripping it, there are lightwhiegh units to buy. such as a cf hood, lexan hatch and glass. a fuel cell might be a good alternative to the stock tank too. going carburated would also likely save you some wieght, as well as improve the top end maybe. light wheels would be a good idea. verts wheels are a cheap and light upgrade, and 15x6.5 should be enough size wize. since your looking for a base, i'd suggest an lsd as well perhaps. light wieght battery.

hks hypermax drag coilovers, get those too

Good keep em comming...

here's my list for my quest for 13 secondz N/A:

1)start off with clean 86 base with no roof, ps,pw,cc,ac, jus a base car
2)get alum hood
3)street ported rebuild with t2 tranny aluminum flywheel,t2 driveshaft and t2 lsd
4)Intake and single exhaust with headers
5)stripage...including wipers, wiper fluid res, roof liner, door panels, dash, carpet, seats, seat belts, spare tire and jack, all remaining interior panels
6)drag radials for rear and thin spare tires up front
7)move battery to the rear
8)add front and rear strut bars
9)add one 10lb racing seat
10)kyb struts with some used lowering springs
11)Can I use the s5 rotors on an s4 rebuild with the s4 ecu or will i have to source one out....

you wont need a tII tranny. those are alot heavier and i think a na tranny will be able to handle a street port. and i dont know from experience but im pretty sure the s4 ecu will be fine with the s5 rotors. good luck

"7)move battery to the rear"

change over to motorcycle battery.

Also how much of a strip are we talking. Just the emissions or all out dash gone. Because if you are talking a total strip you can pull off tons of stuff through out that car.

It's more like 2400-2450. Around what my '87 sport weighs right now.
