c-west headlight installation?

does anyone have any tips for installing the lower trays on the c-west headlight kit? I have been struggling for a few days and i am about ready to cut on the damn things. i tried removing the front bumper but the trays will cover the screws that i will need to get to to put the bumper back on.

I didn't have any problems...
It took longer to aim the lights then it did to install the kit.

the upper left corner of the bottom tray wont go in on the passenger side. and the upper right corner on the driver side.

did you guys have to remove anything besides the stock lights?

i have a veilside c2 front bumper but it doesnt fit different than oem.

i cant believe you guys didnt have trouble with this.

There are two bolts that you have to remove that are hard to see. One is a 10mm bolt in the front outer portion of the headlight space. It attaches the bumper to the frame. Another is a 12mm bolt that is on the opposite side, front center or middle of the headlight. It is right underneath the top of the bumper cover. Then when you put in the tray, you have to stick the middle front portion in first, then make sure as you slide the rest of the tray in, that the hole in the outside front part of the tray receives a stud. To save you some more trouble make sure you bolt the center light's bracket in first before installing tray, and make sure the stick harness comes up through the front middle portion of the tray where there is a space.

finally got these damn things in. the problem was the holes on the passenger side one were just a little off. the drivers side one was a piece of cake.

did you guys wire it with the switches that came with the kit or did you somehow use the stock switch on the column?

As I recall the 3 prong plug has a ground and two hots, one high and one low beam, if you want both lights on at high beam you need a relay, and otherwise, it goes as follows... as I remember the center prong is the hot side of the low beams, the other two are ground and high beam.. the way to find out is hook it up and try or better, put a multimeter up to it, or use your old bulb and a couple of aligator clips, but be carefull there's a lot of current running through those wires... it's got a fuse of 30 A I think, so i'd take a whallop to blow that sucker... (Probhably severely burn you in the process)

Best advice is stick one hand in your pockt, this makes things more difficult but also prevents you from getting shocked through your heart....

Also you should hook everything up then turn on the lights from inside the car, don't work with the lights on... that way you'll just burn through fuses at most...

Best Idea is borrow / buy a multimeter and measure which cuircuit is live when which switch is used.. then wire it up accordingly...

Sorry if I scared you, but with electronics you need to be carefull...

It cant be any harder than the rotary extreme headlights... and in the end, at least the c-west lights look good and not like a one-off backyard project.

removing the fenders makes the whole install alot easier too. just lets you fit it in without alot of hassle.
