Thank you, somebody put a turbo boost hose over them, but i see them know. I see a black and a brown cap. Do you know which color cap is low pressure?

I'd sell them on eBay (they generally go for $20 a can) and use the proceeds to pay a professional to recharge your system.

Seriously, if you can't tell the difference between the high and low pressure port I would not mess with your AC. The total capacity for an R1, for example, is 12.2 oz (about 1 can) and if you overcharge it may simply stop working (until you evacuate it to it working pressure).

Yeah why not just retrofit it to the r-134a refrigirant.....over here they will evacuate the system, retrofit, oil charge, and charge with the new freon for like 85.That may be your best bet....

For a touring, this is correct. For an R1 it is 12.2 oz.

because everyone i know who has converted to 134 has had their compressor fail within 2 years...and most of them within the first year.

and r12 is colder

Out of curiousity, where did you get this info? The collision repair manual doesn't differentiate between R1 vs. Touring. Components are of very similar size so it's logical that they would be the same.

FSM and sticker under the hood for me. I'll take facts over logic in this case .

Yeah.....because the retrofit wasnt done by a professional mine is still going and it was retrofit back in 2001 and still blowin cold.Compressor failure is due to 1)overcharging the freon 2)insufficient oil-charge or non evacuation of the system.

Okay, you got me. I always looked at this sticker and saw 12.2 oz.. but you made me look again. It's actually 1 lb and 12.2 oz.. I had to do the math to convert .8kg before it clicked.

..Sorry about that.

By the way, this is on a 2/92 car.

Sheesh - you are right (just checked my 05/92 R1 again). So the R1 has more freon than the touring? Who would have thunk?

No where in the above picture did it differentiate between touring and R1. For ***** and giggles, does anyone still have the sticker on their touring hood that shows capacities? It really doesn't matter, I'm just curious.
