Make sure you change the head gasket at least once every other year, V6 Rotaries tend to chew them up. As well, change your headlight fluid with every oil change and make sure you get an aftermarket camshaft immediately, the stock cam is crap.
You'll also want to make sure you get a nice 7 or 8" tach for the dashboard, otherwise people won't think you're supercool.

The guy who posted above me said it right though, read the FAQ's, they'll have everything you could possibly want to know.

You don't need to know about a wankel to buy one. But you'll want to learn as much as possible since there are plenty of lemons and overpriced junk out there. Lots of info in the FAQ and there are buyers guides listed in the links.
Steering wheel is easy - just get the car aligned, which I would do regardless from the day I bought it. The bushings can get pricey, depending on which ones and how many need replaced, but it's really nothing to be afraid of. The oil pressure gauge is probably due to a bad pressure sender, which is an easy and cheap fix.
The bottom line is I recommend verifying EVERYTHING yourself. Ok, so the engine was recently rebuilt, thats nice to know. But get a compression test done anyway. Etc, etc.

My friend got a nice aftermarket lifter kit in his GTU FC, and it helped a lot. I know it bumped his freeway gas mileage up to 40MPG from 35MPG. These cars are really economical on gas. That and cooling is their definite strong points, makes them an excellent track car out of the box.
