Boost Gauge: Where to drill through firewall?

Been reading about installing a boost gauge but would like to know where exactly would I drill through the firewall. Read the easist location was at the steering wheel, but where? Posted a picture so you guys can help or if another location would be easier.

You don't need to drill. It's a tough passage but you can go through the big hole by the brake booster, inside the fender, and come in next to the fuse box. Could probably remove the fender liner to make it easier but I try to avoid drilling holes in my firewall if possible.

Some people drill through the rubber grommet near the steering wheel but that's kinda sketchy and too much work. I did like Tom and went through the fender, behind the plastic liner. The toughest part is getting the liner off and pulling up a corner of carpet inside...which isn't tough at all.

Pop that US driver's side fender liner off and have a look. If you don't already have a boost gauge, Defi makes nice gauges that match well.

Don't drill anything. Pull off the driver's side front wheel and pull back the fender liner. You will see a large black grommet there. Poke a hole in that. It comes out behind the dead pedal.

You can go through either fender, no need to drill the firewall.

Ditto on the rubber boot in the fender well. Drilling is sort of a hack.

Glad I am not he only one to run the boost gauge hose there.

It was just too easy to pass up.

I wouldn't poke a hole in the grommet either, it isn't hard to remove the tape, run it through properly and seal it back up.

The front harness to interior grommets behind the arch liner and the engine harness grommet are the best options imo.

I've used these three places for several gauges and water injection installs:

-the rubber around the steering shaft
-the rubber grommet behind the driver side fender
-the hole where the A/C lines go to the evaporator on the passenger side

Thanks guys, I went through the fender liner how most suggested and it worked out great. The line ended to the left of the fuse panel near the dead pedal.
