Angry Boost gauge shows a vacuum???!!!

What the hell is going on? Just installed the Autometer boost gauge in my yet unmodified FD. I hooked up the vacuum hose to the nipple on the intake. When I run a test the needle goes from 0 to the yellow showing a vacuum. Car seems to have normal power. Please help!

What "test" are you "running"? At idle and cruising, you will have vacuum. When you push the gas pedal a little harder, you'll work the turbos, and produce Boost....at this time it will go out of vacuum and into Boost

Normal. What vacuum reading you getting? 11-15? It's a good sign of engine health.

Around 15 inHg should be for a ported engine. Around 20 inHg should be normal for a non-ported engine.

sit at your computer.....look at the screen.....
ok now at the upper right hand corner there's a button that says "Search"
- click on that FIRST whenever you have a problemo

about 18 is stock and as you get less and less vacuum it could mean
A. more aggressive porting OR
B. you have one of those fun vacuum leaks

figure out how much vacuum youre seeing and compare it to what you find in your search

its all good now:)

Thanks guys
Man do I feel stupid or what?
I tested it parked in neutral before and it only showed vacuum even with high rpm.
Had to hit the road to get the boost going. Just not easy with this got damn traffic and speed limit in LA. At idle it is just above 15 and bounces around between 10-25 at low speeds before the boost kicks in with spikes just above 10. Are these spikes normal?
