boost drop at WOT

Well I have been having some boost problems, sucks because I miss the feeling of my car when it was boosting properly. I have had to turn down a Z28 and a GT because of boost problems; it really sucked because I know I could have handed them their asses. Moving on, I got time to do a WOT test on the highway so I figured what the hell lets see what results this brings. So I start off and it boosts strong for about a few seconds and then starts to drop off reasonably fast. Probably takes about 2 seconds to drop to about 5psi where it stays until redline. Any input as to what is causing this would be appreciated.

do the 10-8-10 boost test. sounds like you have a leak related with your secondary turbo

start by checking the coupling to your ypipe..if your building boost initially and it drops, sound like a secondary problem..your gonna need to start checking vacuum lines, solenoids relative to secondary turbo operation...

Yeah I did the WOT test. My car should be getting 12-10-12 but obviously it isn't. And I am pretty much positive it’s my secondary not coming online that is causing the low boost. I am just hoping it’s not my secondary turbo being shot that’s causing the problem.

stock normal boost pattern is 10-8-10...testing is best done on a third gear pull..check the pressure tank..

My car has a DP, Blitz SMIC, cat-back and intake with M2 stage 3 ECU so I think its safe to run the 12-10-12. Although I really would like some input as to WTF is causing my boost problem. I don’t think my secondary is shot but I am not certain. What do you guys think?

Well i hit it and it was sweet then it dropped to 5....and it did that all night. It's always done that but i was just hopeng that it would not do it with her in the car...hahaha anyway If anyone has this problem and fixes it i would love to know how.....i just dont have money right now to buy things to see if they will fix it nor the knowhow on rotaries.
