Boost controll with mid-pipe
I was just wondering if a profec b can control boost with a mid pipe along with a DP and catback. My mechanic doesnt recomend this at all. He talks about boost creep and that I should never get a mid pipe if I want to stay reliable. I also want to get a M2 ecu would this help level my boost out? I just want to run a max of 12 psi right now while still having stock twins!

umm...m2 is not programmed for a mp. Check out there site www.m2performance.com
also with a mp you will probably have to port the wastegate to better ensure that you will not have any boost creep

depends, some people run a mp and get little to no boost creep..myself, i would creep up to 16psi, then i ported the wg and could only creep to 10 psi...
if u get your waste gate ported it wont be a huge problem, (but theres astill a chance it could) but your prob better off running a high-flow cat especially if u only wana run 12psi

a MP will definately cause boost spiking. ive got a full exhaust (pettit MP, DP and apexi GT-spec) and im spiking up as high as 15lbs when my profec-b is set for 10lbs. after alot of WOT runs and some fine tuning ive got the spiking down to 13lbs buts that still high on the secondary. i'd rather have full 14lbs but right from 3000rpm and not 6000rpm. next im gonna put on the silencer and see if that helps out a bit.

porting the wg, requires removal of the turbos, then removing the front turbo from the manifold wich connects the 2...then taking a die grinder or such to remove the material untill it almost excededs the wg flapper...
can be done your self if your compitent with working on the car, but not a job for the timid....
i did it my self, just plan a sat to play with te car, should be easily turned arround same day as long as theres no problmes

As Joe D would say..."Do a Friggen Search man !!" LoL jk Joe Dog !! I am contemplating the same thing but don't want to run into boost creep. I've heard many diff. stories on this. I've actually driven in one of our member's car that has an IC, DP, MP, and CB, stock turbos and needle valves and he has NIL to very minor boost creeping..go figure. I want to drop one on my car and see if I can blow something up.

I decided to get my wastegate ported but I don't want to do it myself seeing I'am a little afraid to play with the turbos so I'll leave it up to my mechanic. Are there any downsides to porting your waste gate and how much do you think it should cost?

depends its more labor than any parts..prob take a good mechanic, 4hrs to r&R the turbos, and 30 min of porting with a die grinder...
so @ 65$ per hr- 292.50
aroung 300 should be fair for the labor invovled...or do it yourself for 30 bux (cost of the bit) unless u have the bit sitting arround
