Arrow Boost control for FD's

I was wondering what experiences (good& bad) the forum members have had with various boost controllers. I have the Gr67 kit from www.GothamRacing.com, and will be seeing some pretty high boost levels at the track(25psi or so). Since I havent taken any shortcuts while going single, I was wondering which boost controller i should go with. They seem to range from $450 for the BLITZ Dual SBC to $900 for the HKS EVC PRO. What can I get that would meet my needs, but would not be overkill??? Thanks in advance for the help.

P.S. If anyone has a TII lsd for sale please pm me. thanks

From what I understand the manual boost controllers. (high end ones) control boost the best. The problem is they are more difficult to adjust. And dont have displays etc.
If it were me I would get a wastegate spring set for what you plan to run typically. This will be very consistant unless your manifold design or wastegate isnt up too the task. but then you have more problems then just a boost controller.
I use a Blitz SBC-id but i dont use it typically for daily driving. I shut it off and the boost defaults to the wastegate spring pressure. When i want to run above that I have the boost controller already set for the high boost setting and it will go to the EBC's settings.
While many of the features of the higher end units look neat. You probably couldnt take advantage of them unless you have alot of different setting you require for whatever reason. Or if you need to integrate your EBC into your ECU like the Greddy E01 for the Greddy Emanage users etc.
The Blitz is nice. Its not a bad price and it has a dual solinoid so it does react faster then most. In a Test a couple years ago in Turbo Magazine it made the most power on the same car with the same mods on the same dyno on the same day with the same boost settings etc etc. So I bought it. It has its ups and down. I could eleborate more if you want to PM me.

The thing I like LEAST about the Blitz is the settings.
First of all your profec B has a Boost setting. You can set it for an actual boost # is PSI etc.
Well the Blitz you have 2 numbers.
1. Gain
2. Set
These #'s can be anything from 0-100 And do not equate to an actual boost pressure.
The Gain feature...... Well you set this higher to spool faster. But too fast and it will spike past your SET. Basically the higher the gain the longer it waits to start dumping boost so your not bleeding off exhaust out the wastegate too soon. So you really have to play around with the Gain to find the right combo to come up fast without over shooting your target boost pressure.
Now SET..... Set is just a # that does not match a boost pressure. While you have to play with it to find the actual pressure. Tuners hate this as it take alot more time to dial in. At least some of my tuners hate it.

As for the posatives... Well it holds boost well once you get it dialed in. Just have to be very careful not to go up too fast because you dont know what a setting of some odd # will give you for an actual boost pressure.
I am talking about the manual mode. I dont even want to get into the "auto" mode with the fuzzy logic etc.
There is also an Overboost feature. Now this is helpful but very slow to react for my taste. You set an actual boost pressure for a "Warning" you have options now to just flash the screen when it exceeds your Warning setting. Now this you can actual have a pressure setting for. I dont know why they didnt also make it this way for the Set on the boost control itself.
The Warning also has options for what you want to do when it overboosts your pre set warning pressure level. You can have it cut boost. Just warn you. or just continue to run what it wants wildly. The problem i have is it takes a good 2 or 3 seconds for it too react once it actually reads this overboost condition. Not long enough IMO to save your motor. So to me its pretty pointless.

I have the Blitz SBC-iD and the PowerMeter iD. I think its a lot of fun. 4 different boost settings can be saved at once which is nice because I have settings for high boost, low boost, race gas boost, and just the wastegate pressure. The set has something to do with a percentage of your wastegate closing. So if you had 10lb. wastegates it would be extremely easy to set but it does have a way you can get set a psi and go. Its not as accurate though. The PowerMeter makes it even better because you can adjust boost based on speed.

I have it on both my cars and I get rock solid boost on both. I highly reccomend it if its in your price range.

sounds pretty much like the profec b except the profec has a annoying glitch. Say for instance you have your set at 23% which equals 10 psi. the unit cuts boost at 8 psi even though i have the boost cut set at 11 psi. thats the one thing i hate about it.
