Possessed FD car alarm

About 5am this morning my FD car alarm went off while it was parked in the garage spontaneously.

Garage door is closed so there is no apparent "external element" that may have caused this event.

I inserted the key in the keyhole, turned it counter-clockwise and turned it off.

What could have caused this?

Has this happened to anyone?

use to happen to me, i just disabled the dayam stock alarm.

Dam car more of an attention ***** than it's owner.

I was in my boxer briefs running into the garage to beat some liberals with lesser RX7's and I see nothing.

And it was right in the middle of a nice weekend REM dream.

i hide under the car wen u came out

Mine started doing it from the lame *** weak miata battery i have to use due to the FMIC. Always gets me jumping up in my boxers running out in the dark steping on my Jack russel tryin to get up and catch them bastards.
No one ever there. I think its from the battery voltage dropping.

I might be on to something.

My 51R battery has been drained a few times and I think it's time to do a warranty claim.

I'll keep an eye on it.

Seriously, though, did you have the hood open? I'm pretty sure the weakest link in the alarm circuit is the hood switch, seems to be failing on others' cars. Mine no longer works, it's stuck in the closed position. I can leave the hood open to cool off and the alarm will arm fine, and doesn't go off like it used to. Look into the hood switch first...

i usually leave my hood open when i come home, but this incident had the hood close.

You guys actually take time to get the boxers on?!! I usually run out in the buff.

really though, I had this happen a few times on the FD and ALOT on the FC. On ours it turned out being the key lock on the drivers doors.( Both cars oddly enough)

The switch would fall slightly off center from it's " neutral" position. This made the car think that something was trying to open up the door without the key. At least that what i concluded. I replaced the door locks and haven't had an issue yet.

Also if one door is locked and the other open for some reason, it freaks out the alarm system.

you could just unplug it and install an aftermarket one
