Question bomz intake pipes

i was wondering if (this is probably a stupid question) the bomz intake pipes on e-bay were a good deal or not. Just looking to save a little money but don't want a bad product?

not the best pics in the world but enough swearing and smashing your fingers you can get it to fit a little irregularly but tighten the clamps and your fine. pics are here:

Is that real carbon fiber on the elbow? Are they available without the AWS hose flange?

i've got the pettit racing intake system . it's amazing at the poor quality work they have done to the car. where they put the intake in it the belts burned big holes in the factory pipes.

my freind got those for his 300zx. I couldn't believe thier poor quality of work. It came with scraches all over the pipe and it was supost be new from the store. Couplers are awful. I don't think its silicone, it looks like its made out of some cheap rubber.

I've got them on my FD and my Z32 300zx, its mandral bent aluminum piping .
the workmanship isn't that bad the welds are good and the bends aren't crimped so there is no retriction of air flow.
who cares about the price they work great they do what they are designed to do and they look good under the hood, just get rid of the crappy couplers they come with.
I bought silicone couplers off ebay too and they were just as good as anything from hose techniques or any of the other companies out there and half as expensive.

go for it

I had heard that the top pipe fits the stock airbox just fine and that the bottom pipe was the one that there was fittment problems with. Is this correct? I was gonna buy the kit after Christmas.

^^^^ I bought them some time ago and couldn't use them with the stock airbox. Top one fits fine but bottom one DOESN"T. I emailed the seller and never got a response. They're good if you plan to make your own intake and use cylindrical KN filters

give it a while and those crappy couplers will harden and crack and the pipe will slip off. i also tried cutting the bottom one to fit which helped, but it was still a ******* pain to install and reinstall if you need to do something else. eventually broke down and got the old rx7 store pipes. fit perfectly every time. not sure if jason still has them.
