Thumbs up BNR stage 3's, Steve Kan tune, 99 Spec body components, Efini wing, and More

Well after a winter long of upgrades I was able to finish my car to 98% of perfection to my taste. The other 2% is rims, so YES I KNOW I NEED RIMS HAHAHA and tail lights.

I did some hard thinking and decided to keep the car as close to stock as possible to help retain the value of the car and not have it look like a hack job. I talked with Bryan at BNR and had him leave the Stage 3's Sequential as i do like the way the stock system works. I have always run full synthetic oil so Bryan also reccomended Dynamic seals with the stage 3's.

The car was then tuned by Steve Kan a few weeks back and is now running like a champ. He did two tunes with a low setting of 12psi and a higher of 16psi. The unfortunate part is while my car was on the dyno the speed sensor broke not alowing a reading of the amount of HP my car is making. From what Steve said the injector duty is at, i was around the high 350rwhp mark sequentially. I am going to make an appointment with the shop again just to do a few pulls and see what my actual numbers are.........

Now for the car and some of the things you will see. You will notice that the car is running ALL STOCK COMPONENTS still. Bryan at BNR was very interested in my car and to what power it was going to make sequentially and with stock components. Why you ask. the reason is as mentioned above, i wanted to keep the car in as stock condition as possible, no hackin for rads and intercoolers, no pieces missing jusy a clean looking FD!

Im not going to ramble on forever so here are some pics and stats....

Never thought of that but i guess if you look at it fast. The only thing the same really is the body colour, the rest is completly different.

As for the wheels i wanted to try the gun metal look but im leaning away from it now, just a bit to dark for me. The 99 spec wheels are a bit to small as i would like to go with 18" rims in a 5, 6, or 7 spoke design.

Looks great! One question though, why the Efini wing? It looks awesome but with the front end setup (99 spec) I thought you would have gone with the 99 spec wing. Still looks great, just curious on why you chose one over the other.

Good Q, well i went with the Efini wing cause i do like things that are more rare/different. I know of no one that has this wing so i was drawn towards it. Also IMO the 99 wing does not go with the flow of the FD's lines. It seems to square to me. I know the Efini wing kinda has a flat look to it also but when you look at in person it actually has a curve to it that follows the rear deck.

HAHAHA WOW your good. OH im so stealthy!! If you go to the drivers side of your car by the steering coloum, look straight down. On the flat fender wall (not the fire wall) there are some holes with threads in them. I had to go under the car to get to them but the box sits nice and flush there. just be sure to use thread lock lol.......

FYI - You can order the rubber caps that go on the red ***** that manually lower and raise the headlights from Mazda for something like $15 each (can't remember the exact price). Just ask Ray, I sure he has the P/N memorized (LOL).

nice car, just kind of shame to see BNRs trying to cram air through that hopelessly diminutive intercooler

open it up and let her B-R-E-A-T-H-E

unleash the full rotary fury on unsuspecting rice

That's a beautiful car... Don't see how it looks like BATMAN's though... You can spot that wing a mile away!
