Shawn, she looks amazing. I love your taste. Very simple, very nice. I especially love the wing and the Knightsports headlights And the fact that you stayed sequential And thanks for the thanks...It's my pleasure really. It's times like these that I'm really happy to feel I helped (even in a very small way) to build such a beautiful car as yours

Oh and I PMed ya.

Awesome black FD. I love it...especially being almost '99 spec all the way with the '96 eFini wing. I will get that wing too for mine eventually. I love the pics too since you took pics of every angle...including the overly-looked regular straight-on side angle. Love it! FDZ

Your right there is so much more to pull from the car, but i dont want to start hacking things just for more power. Trust me even with the stock components with the BNR's there is a HUGE difference. I know i could go with a stock mount but again i want the car to retain its value.

Nope thats not it, your way to high. Its at the very bottom of the fender wall by the steering coloum. Almost where the firewall and fender meet.

Car looks absolutely amazing----finish it up with 99 tails and some classy rims and it'll be complete .

Those headlights look great! How was the install, fairly straightforward? I know you said you don't like hacking, so I am hoping so. Any details you can provide will be great. I already have Catz low beam HIDs but wonder if they can be made to work with that knightsports setup......

Rich, Chuck was playing w/ those headlights for quite a bit, and I recall him saying something about them requiring projectors to work correctly, but there simply wasn't enough space...

The knightsport headlights are a direct replacement to the stock set up. So there is no cutting what so ever. With the kit you get a complete new cage, harness, lenses and fiberglass shroud.

Basically the old cage comes out, in with the new one. the arm on the new cage that attaches to the headlight motor is a bit shorter so it gives the lights about an inch lower look. The bigest problem is getting everything aligned again, meaning your gaps between the cover, hood and fenders.

The kit is an H3 bulb set up so if your Catz is an H3 HID then your good to go. I must warn you though that the lens on the KS kit is a fog light, so you dont get PERFECT cutoof and such. I just aimed mine down a bit and its works fine for glare and such.

Again thanx for the props, im hoping to get some 98 tails soon and rims by next spring.

cheers

car looks clean as hell, looks absolutely beautiful

But am I the only one who thinks its totally RETARDED to keep the stock radiator and stock intercooler in there, when they are allmost undersized for stock power levels? You may be making a very subborn costly mistake my friend...

I have never seen a V mount that didnt need things cut or deleated for fitment. Lets look at it this way, my father owns two classic Corvettes. Being around him and his cars for such a long time made me realize how a car appreciates in value when it retains stock comonents. I have had my car for some time and plan to keep it. If take my car 10 years from now and one that has been swaped for a single turbo and a V mount, which one will someone most likely take? Now im not saying the FD will be some collectors piece, i just look at that way. Then someday someone else that wants to apprceciate a car that was out 30 years ago and is still in pristine shape can.

Personally i dont belive that at all. This car is one that is taken out for coffees with friends, nice night time cruises with the girl and fellow enthusiasts and when the need occures a full throttle pull onto a highway or something. I dont track the car or beat on it like a hill billy. Now some may say this car is a track car and is ment to be used that way, i dont care. It was my dream car as kid and said that one day i would own one. Just beacuse someone else thinks it should be beat on on a track thats there perogative.

The rad and IC are perfectly fine for my standards and believe that Mazda felt the same. I can bet you that some of the cars that are out there dont even need the size of the IC that they have, they just do it for braging rights so people say "ohhhh look how big his intercooler is, sickkkkk".

Dont get me wrong, an IC plays a big, big part on the performance of the car. But i dont need 500hp, just a smile on my face!!

cheers

Condescending much? It's your car to do what you want with it, but you're making yourself out to be an ***. You basically insult a vast majority of the forum members with your comments ASSuming that everyone who "hacks" up his car is doing it so other people will be in awe of its modifications.

As an FYI: You could drop a small SMIC in there without HACKING anything and it would be much more efficient than what you have now and still look just as clean if not cleaner. And with regard to holding value...you can always drop the stock IC back in when you want to sell the car. I don't think there's a little camera under the hood letting the new owner know that the car WAS modified at some point...

Also when i use the word hack i dont mean some one did a bad job at what they did. There are MANY beautiful cars out there inc my friends with IC and such. When i say hack i mean i dont want to change anything that is OEM. As before i mentioned i know i can put in a stock mount but choose not to.

i dont see how im such an "***" when all i said was the reason why i did what i did after the gentalmen before me said it was a "retarded" idea. I have said nothing mean to except state opinons but you incinuate me as an "***" twice as if i have been such a goof on these forums.....

Shawn, I totally understand your desire to keep her stock...and I like it and agree w/ it... had I been an original owner, and this was say, up to 1999 or 2000. But now you're dealing with a 12 year old IC that has plastic endtanks and a pretty wimpy radiator etc. It can present to be a reliability issue in the long run. And between me and you, stock FDs are SLOWWWW lol. But I'm still feelin your FD

Ok i guys i hear ya and i totally understand. Lets say i gave into it, my only option for a "direct replacement" is the Greddy correct, or is there another? Do they go into the exact same spot or do you have to rid of some things?

the greddy smic works with the stock airbox....you just have to make your own ic duct or make the stock duct work with it.
