Bluish/whitish smoke when on boost!!!

Hey guys, just a quick question. My buddy has a single turbo 93 and he's been adding 2 stroke oil to the mix everytime. Well last weekend he was out cruising and he race someone. Well when he race he notice that there was smoking coming out from under the dash and he was like WFT. So we drove around and i noticed it too, when he's on boost and lets off a bluish/whitish smoke coming out from the engine compartment. So we check it out and still couldn't figure it out, he would step on the gas and rev it up to like 6k rpm and let it go and everytime the BOV goes off i would see it coming from the Exhaust manifold and under the UIM or around that area. So what do you guys think the problem is? would leaking gas under accel would cost this? or leaking oil under accel? or is the exhaust not tighten all the way, that would make the smoke coming out of it, but this is not likely b/c i would not see coming out of there all the time.

oil is usually blue smoke when it comes from exhaust, so i guess you have a gasket leaking.

Blueish smoke is burning oil. What kind of premix? Not all 2cyl oils burn the same. Also too much will smoke like that. Also how many miles on the turbos? Worn out turbo bearings will allow oil to burn in the exhaust.

i don't exactly know what kind but i think he might have add a little to much when refueling. you only supposed to add 2 to 4oz per 12 gallon to full tank right??? Well he just started to use this kind he uses the other kind and it wasn't smoking but i guess this kind smokes more. But anyways it should stop smoking if he use it all up and not add that kind in right???

By the way the turbo is pretty new and i don't think it's the turbo, remember the smoke didn't come from the exhaust, it came from somewhere under the engine in the middle where the tranny and engine is, directly under the UIM, and it came into the car under the dashboard.

do you hear any exhaust leaks? and do you see any oil residue in the engine bay around the area you mentioned @ the uim?

Also if it was fuel you would smell a fuel oder.

I premix using 1oz per gallon. so 16oz for every tank of gas.
And yes it should stop burning once he uses that tank up and puts something else in if thats what is the cause. if his tank is partly empty he could add more fuel too to reduce the smoking.

Sounds like an oil leak to me. Could be oil feed or return. Could be a lot of things though. I would recommend taking it to a shop. That car could potentially catch on fire. Oil or gas leaks are the cause of engine fires in most cases. TAKE IT TO A SHOP!

Under boost the turbos are spinning at a much higher rpm. Your oil pressure will also raise making it easier for oil leaks to form in defective areas. If your getting smoke underneath the LIM and dash area, you have an exhaust leak somewhere.

Now as far as different brands of pre-mix, I've personally noticed a difference between brands with some brand causing more smoke than others. Good quality stuff doesn't smoke that much.

Hey guys we got a chance to take the UIM out and check, kinda dark out didn't get a chance to see everything hope we be home early today to get a good look. But we did notice the Exhaust manifold bolt was a little loose, also when taking the UIM off i notice it was wet with oil, is this good or bad, i think he might have added to much oil into the gas mixture don't you think, and this should burns off right???

Also where exactly should we be looking at or what can anyone pin point to where the oil return and feeding is please, we think we know exactly where it is but just want to be sure. When taking the UIM off there are two little plastic looking oil line is this it?

Nevermined i found it, turn out like someone said, it was the oil return line. It cracked due to heat so everytime i boost oil would spits out and smokes up. Put new line in and no more smokes so thanks a lot guys for helping.
