banzai brace and stud kit

Anyone done this yet and have issues getting the pan back in place? It seems to want to hit the pick up tube and not sit on the engine without binding to the studs.

And just took off the pickup tube and tried it and everything lines up which points back to that thing. Did anyone have to bend it a bit or leave some of the studs out?

The studs and brace in no way effect how close the pan sits to the motor. All it does is replace the bolts with studs and nuts and adds a brace around the perimeter of the pan. Are you sure you're putting the pan up the right way? It's pretty hard to flip it around considered the big holes for the mounts are on the aft side :/

Are you doing the job in the car or with the motor out of the car?

I know in the car the oil pan is REALLY tricky to get on there and lined up, even not using studs.

You may have to pull some of the studs, get the pan in place, then put the rest of the studs on.

Got it, I did while engine in car. Had to remove the rear studs and one on the back passenger side to get it and then put the studs in. The back side only let one go all the way flush so used the OMP bolts for the other two since they had some length on them and its good to go now.

Interestingly enough, i was able to use a deep socket and wrench on every nut for the pan just by lifting the engine from the trans. I do have the turbo stuff off, so I was able to take the pan out that side. Found one motor mount as a solid and the pass side stock and broken. Got some mounts coming in while finishing up some other things.

It is a lot easier if the sub-frame is lowered, allows for more maneuverability of the pan.
