Fc housing and plates in fd compatibility

could fc rotor housings and intermediate and rear plates be using in a s8 fd? I'm finding it hard to find a short fd engine that's cheap but I can get a fc short engine cheap. Should I get it? Will I have any dramas. I'm planning on bridge porting it.

the intake runner height for the FD sit much higher. Here are the intermediate plates. You can technically use the S5 rotor housings by blocking external coolant passages with freeze plugs.

This doesn't surprise me, because FD engines aren't cheap. This isn't a Civic.

You want a BP'ed FD3s with I'm sure aspirations of huge power levels, but are wondering about using old engine components from a second gen FC.

Not trying to be a jerk, but if this is how you're going to build the car then I absolutely see lots of dramas in your future..... just keepin' it real

Don't forget the castings in 2nd gen irons (even Tll) are significantly weaker and more prone to cracking around the dowel pins than 3rd gen housings.

Can't use a FC intermediate in a FD engine if you wanted to, LIM will not bolt up and primary runners will not align. It could be used in a full PP engine, but that is not what is being discussed.

You would be building a Frankenstein engine that would cost more than getting proper FD housings and irons.

Not to mention motor mounts would have to be fabricated.

Save yourself tons of headache and just spend the $ for the right engine
