Bad tps, my problem?

I just went and put a multimeter on the tps.. I only get a functioning reading about 1/3 of the time.. where it fluctuates between -1.5 to -.7 and open reads -4 to -5. The rest of the time the sensor doesnt flucuate when opened or closed and just sits at -4.5.. However.. when the sensor does work.. it never sits still or even close to around one number.. fluctuates all over the place past those numbers stated.. This im am guessing could be the problem child of my car.. I have a new one on the way. Anyone else have any other opinions about other things that could cause the problem? If you ask what problem check out this thread..

Actually, those open and closed readings are within spec. The fact that they flutter is what wories me. Have you tried to adjust the TPS yet?
